Students perform in front of sold-out audiences

Arts Alive! made its Barrington Middle School new auditorium debut with four sold out shows of Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr. The Musical.

The Barrington Middle School students impressed audiences with their performances. Special guest appearances by Barrington Middle School Principal Dr. Andrew Anderson and Barrington Middle School science teacher Peter Blasi delighted cast and audience members alike.

This smash hit weekend was especially meaningful to the eighth grade Arts Alive! cast members. Arts Alive! provides elementary school theater programs through grade eight, meaning these actors got to finish off their Arts Alive! career on their home stage at Barrington Middle School.

“We look forward to seeing them all grow and succeed and many have committed to remain on as active members of the Arts Alive! family via our internship program,” stated a press release from Arts Alive!

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
