Barrington Police: Business cited after pumping pool water into bay

A Barrington Police officer on a construction detail assignment with a Bristol County Water Authority contractor who was doing work in a Hampden Meadows neighborhood on Tuesday, Sept. 15 discovered that someone was discharging pool water onto the street. 

According to the police report, the officer tracked down the company that was discharging the pool water and informed the owner he could not do that. 

Police also cited the business owner for violating a town ordinance. In addition, Barrington Police contacted the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management regarding the release of pool water into Narragansett Bay.
