Barrington Police responded to a Hampden Meadows home at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15 for a break-in.
The homeowner was away at the time of the break-in, but received a notification of glass breaking at his house.
Police responded to the scene a short time after the incident occurred — police officers located evidence of forced entry at the rear of the home and the front door.
A witness reported seeing a dark-colored Nissan Rogue, possibly with a bike rack on the back, outside the home. Police are still investigating and working to determine the items stolen during the break-in.
