After a two-year hiatus from the stage, the kids at Barrington Middle School are ready to wow audiences with their performance of an historical musical revue called "REVOLTING!"
The Arts Alive show will take a walk through revolts that changed history, including the French Revolution, The American Revolution, the Labor Revolt in 1899 and a few surprises along the way. The show allows the students to learn about "power to the people" and how change can come about when they all come together with passion and purpose.
“While we have been working with Covid restrictions, we applaud the resiliency and dedication of these kids who will do whatever it takes to get back on stage and do what they love,” said Dena Davis of Arts Alive Barrington. “We know how important the arts are for many students who need creativity and interaction, not only because it is fun, but also because we know it is vital for social and emotional wellness. We hope the community will come out to support these kids ... and just try not to join in with these epic anthems of Broadway!”
Performances of REVOLTING! will be held on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 9 at 1 and 7 p.m. at Barrington High School. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be available online at www.artsalivebarrington.org as well as at the door (cash only) before each performance. Arts Alive! will be asking all audience members to adhere to BPS COVID-19 protocols during performances.
