Barrington will use a random drawing to determine who can purchase boat or kayak storage stickers this year.
Town officials decided to use the random drawing as demand for the boat and kayak storage stickers has grown dramatically over the years. Previously, the town used a first-come, first-served approach.
The deadline to register for the random drawing is noon on Wednesday, March 16. The link to register can be found at https://barringtonlearningctr.org/
There will be three separate drawings:
• One for boats less than 18 feet in length which will be stored at the town beach
• One for kayaks stored at the town beach
• And one for kayaks, paddle boards and canoes that will be stored at Walker Farm
People can register one form (up to two kayaks) for each category. Only kayaks, paddle boards and canoes can be stored at Walker Farm, and the town will be issuing fewer stickers for Walker Farm this year because there will be limited space due to a construction project starting there this spring.
The live drawing will take place via zoom on Monday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m. Registrations will be audited prior to the drawing, and duplicate addresses will be disqualified.
Anyone who has difficulty registering online can contact the Peck Center at 247-1926 or stop by the center for assistance.
Boat storage stickers cost $75, while kayak, canoe and paddle board storage stickers cost $50.
