Three members of the Barrington High School girls track team placed in their respective events at the New England Track and Field Championships in Bangor, Maine last weekend.

Eva Garofano unleashed a personal-best throw of 124 feet, 5 inches in the javelin and placed sixth out of 27 athletes.

Sophia Ford jumped 17 feet, 3/4 inch and reached the finals in the long jump event. Her distance placed her ninth out of 23 athletes competing in that event at the championships.

Ellie Noonan set a new Barrington High School record in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet, 3 inches. Her best-ever height was strong enough for 13th place out of 31 athletes.

The Barrington High School boys team also sent a contingent of athletes to compete in the regional championships. Ethan Knight finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and set a new school record with a time of 14.62 seconds.

Other BHS athletes to compete at New Englands included the 4x100-meter relay team (Charly Potter, Knight, Chucky Potter, and Will DiGiacomo), the 4x800-meter relay team (Myles Napolitano, Daniel Chun, Marius Bonard and Fritz Muehlbauer), and 4x400-meter relay team (Muehlbauer, Knight, DiGiacomo and Napolitano) and Caleb Satisfield in the high jump.
