Barrington finishes half-point behind LaSalle

The Barrington High School gymnastics team just missed out on winning a state title on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Eagles scored 141.125 in the all-around, about a half-point behind first place LaSalle.

The Eagles celebrated a number of stellar performances during the state championship meet. The Eagles’ Shaye Robinson finished with the highest individual all-around score, a 36.63. Robinson tallied a 9.3 on vault, a 9.25 on both the beam and floor, and an 8.825 on bars. Robinson placed in the top-six on every event and finished .43 ahead of LaSalle Academy’s Morgan Correira. 

South Kingstown’s Savannah Wilson was third with a 35.90, while LaSalle’s Lauren Horrigan was fourth with a 35.33, and Barrington’s Sarah Henderson was fifth with a 35.23.

Following are Barrington’s scores:

• Shaye Robinson — vault 9.30, bars 8.825, beam 9.25, floor 9.25, all-around 36.63

• Katie LeBlanc — vault 8.85, bars 7.45, beam 8.35, floor 8.90, all-around 33.25

• Sarah Henderson — vault 9.05, bars 8.725, beam 9.00, floor 8.45, all-around 35.23

• Sophie Dunham — vault 9.10, bars 8.35, beam 8.875, floor 8.35, all-around 34.68

• Lily DaPonte — vault 8.50, bars 7.45, beam 7.90

• Hailey Searles — vault 8.45, beam 7.75

• Ellie Noonan — bars 8.45, floor 8.70

• Sarah Simon — floor 8.20
