Endorsed Democrats in Barrington Council race win Primary

Democrats will face three Independents in General Election

Posted

The lone unendorsed Democrat was on the outside looking in after Primary voting results were tallied for the Barrington Town Council race on Tuesday night, Sept. 10.

Anthony Arico, a lifelong Barrington resident, finished in fourth place with around 9 percent of the votes. Endorsed Democrats Liana Cassar, Kerry O’Neill and Jordan Jancosek finished first, second and third, respectively, each with about 30 percent of the votes. The top three finishers earned a spot in the general election.

Cassar, O’Neill and Jancosek will square off against three Independent candidates — Derick Daley, Brian Hughes and Bryan Hoffman — in the upcoming general election.

Following is a breakdown of the final vote count for the Town Council Democratic Primary, as of Tuesday night at 9 p.m.:

Cassar — 1,221 votes

O’Neill — 1,196 votes

Jancosek — 1,098 votes

Arico — 362 votes
