Barrington officials are seeking resident input on sidewalks and bikeways.
The town’s “Complete Streets” plan was drafted in 2021, and approved by the Planning Board in June 2022 with the intent of identifying priority roadways with strategies to improve walking and bicycling connectivity and safety.
Improvements can include new and reconstructed sidewalks, accessible ramps, crosswalk striping, road lane widths and shoulders, signage, and speed limit adjustments.
As the school year begins, Barrington officials want to hear from residents as the town moves forward with prioritizing projects and seeking funds for construction in the coming years.
People can learn more about the “Complete Streets” plan by visiting https://www.barrington.ri.gov/391/Complete-Streets
There are multiple ways for residents to share their feedback with town officials.
• Online survey: Open through Sept. 9; accessible from the town’s website
• Mobile comment station: Friday, Aug. 26, noon to 1:30 p.m. at the town beach
