Multi-family home sale in Barrington sets a record

County Road home sells for $1.1 million

Barrington recently recorded its highest multi-family home sale price ever.

According to a press release from Residential Properties Ltd., the recent sale of 404 County Road in Barrington for $1.1 million marked a new high for multi-family home sales in town. The record sale was confirmed by the statewide multiple listing service.

The house was built in 1855 and was once the home to Ebenezer Tiffany, who served as Barrington Town Treasurer from 1874 to 1898. It is two-and-a-half stories tall and features a cross-gable roof, clapboard siding and two porches. It still has its original hardwood floors, two fireplaces and heavy medallions at the eaves.

“This one-time family estate has been converted to a three-family property with an additional cottage/studio unit tucked away in the back,” stated the release. “The main house is full of character and charm with tall ceilings, light-filled rooms, and seasonal water views of the Barrington River. Each unit enjoys a private entrance and outdoor space, along with individually metered utilities.”

Residential Properties Ltd. Sales Associate Lindsay Mitchell represented the seller as the listing agent in this transaction.
