PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Little League Major All-Stars team lost a tough one to Pawtucket on Saturday, but they’re still alive in the District 2 tournament.
Portsmouth will play Barrington in the loser’s bracket at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at Sherman Field in Portsmouth.
The team lost to Pawtucket on Cosimini Field at Slater Memorial Park Saturday night by a score of 3-1.
Slugger Tommy Wood drove in Portsmouth’s only run by stroking a double to left field in the top of the fifth inning.
Portsmouth began the D-2 tournament with 4-3 win over Barrington on June 26, followed by a 7-1 victory against Newport on June 27.
