The Barrington High School girls track team finished the regular season with a perfect 11-0 record. The Eagles celebrated Senior Day on Monday with wins over Middletown (140-14), Bay View (131-23) and Rogers (137-17).
Eva Garofano highlighted the day by setting a new school record in the discus — Eva recorded a distance of 127 feet, 1 inch.
Isys Dunphy also had a strong meet. The sophomore won the 100-meter race, 200-meter race, and ran a leg of the first-place 4x100-meter relay team. Other members of the that team were Sophia Ford, Maddie Gill and Chelsea Duncan.
Barrington’s 4x400-meter relay team of Sara Chang, Olivia Johnson, Kyle Keough, and Indie Lamb finished in first place. Lamb also won the 400-meter race.
Ford, in addition to running a leg of the 4x100-meter race, also won the long jump and triple jump. Natalie Antonio won the javelin, Lily Cregan won the hammer throw and Ellie Noonan won the pole vault.
Caroline Reznik won the 800-meter race, and Jordan Roskiewicz won the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Sophia Gardos won the 1,500-meter race.
Classical Classic
The Eagles placed nine athletes in top-five finishes at the Classical Classic, held in Providence last weekend.
Roskiewicz won the 100-meter hurdles against a tough field of competitors. Kitty Wang finished fifth in the event.
Garofano finished second in the discus, and Ford was second in the long jump. Helena Hyde finished second in the high jump. Gill was fourth in the javelin, and Ellie Noonan was fifth in the pole vault.
Lamb finished fifth in the 400-meter race and Cregan placed fifth in the hammer.
