Watch: Unified Theater rocks BHS stage with comedy and unity

Posted

About 100 Barrington High School students took the stage in the school's auditorium Friday night for a show that was months in the making. The Barrington Unified Theater group and KIT (Kids Included Together) staged "Change That Channel," a series of eight short comedy skits involving students of all abilities performing together.

They also performed two songs, one written to the  music of "Sweet Caroline," the other "Together We're Unified."

It was a triumphant return to a real stage for the group, which was forced to perform a virtual show last year. Several of the skits had the audience laughing out loud, with students cracking jokes and making fun of celebrities, themselves and their Barrington parents.

The show was led by Producer Ally Pfeffer and Director Jillian Sullivan, seniors who said they are best friends who started performing together in the first grade through the Arts Alive! program in Barrington schools. Other key student contributors included Stage Manager Olivia Daniello, assistant producer Perry Davis, assistant  director Sonya Pareek, and Jack Culton and Nolan Sheehan on audio and lights.

Adultr advisors were Lisa Viall and Heather Kiely.
