EAST PROVIDENCE — The combined East Providence Police and Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency soccer club not only beat thunderstorms later Saturday, June 22, but more importantly defeated its counterparts from Warwick PD 3-1 in a fundraiser played at Pierce Memorial Stadium.
The game was played for the benefit of the East Providence Youth Soccer Association.
EPFD's Andres Perez and Johan Giraldo as well as honorary team member Dorian DaSilva, a 2024 East Providence High School grad and multi-year starter for the boys' soccer squad there, scored the goals for the locals.
Keeper Eric Linacre, also of the EPFD, made a number of key saves in the two-goal triumph.
