PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:

Tuesday, Sept. 3

Michael Roland Bruneau, 63, of no permanent address, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Officers made the arrest after responding to a call for service in the area of Bristol Ferry Road at Mussel Bed Shoal Road at about 6:30 p.m. Bruneau was also found to have had an active 6th District Court bench warrant for his arrest, police said. He was held overnight pending transportation to 2nd District Court in the morning.

Thursday, Sept. 5

Adrian Victor Lombard, Jr., 20, of 12 Russell Ave., Apt. 2, Newport, was charged with unauthorized dissemination of indecent material, his first offense, shortly before midnight. The North Kingstown Police Department made the arrest based on a Portsmouth affidavit warrant, police said.

Friday, Sept. 6

Michael J. Machado, 35, of 2 Bay St., Bristol, was charged with domestic assault/battery, his first offense, at about 9:25 p.m. Officers had responded earlier to a North Drive home to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, officers spoke with the victim, a 41-year-old woman from Bristol, but Machado was not on the scene, police said. He was later arrested at his home by the Bristol Police Department and taken into custody by Portsmouth Police. Machado was subsequently taken to Newport Hospital because of suicidal statements he made while on the scene in Bristol, according to police. He was later discharged and transported to the Portsmouth Police headquarters, where he was placed in a cell pending his arraignment.

Sunday, Sept. 8

Alyssa Lee Slattery, 21, of 226 Main Road, Apt. B, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence, first offense; and reckless driving/eluding police with a motor vehicle in a high-speed pursuit. Slattery was pulled over on Route 24 North at Cedar Island shortly after 1 a.m.

Jonathan Charles Greene, 65, of 20 Warner Ave., Prudence Island, was charged with domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery), first offense; and domestic vandalism with malicious injury to property. The arrest was the result of an active affidavit warrant that was executed at about 9:25 a.m. The victim was a 55-year-old woman who lives in Exeter, according to police.
