PORTSMOUTH — The Common Fence Point Preparedness Committee (CFPPC) is hosting “Offshore Wind and the Sakonnet River: A Dialogue for Coastal Communities II” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The forum will be held at the CFP Arts Wellness Community Hall, 933 Anthony Road.

This free meeting will share information about the state and local decision-making process specific to offshore wind cable installation and how and when community members can engage.

This interactive discussion, the second of three, will allow attendees to ask questions, and experts will answer these questions to the best of their ability. Other questions and concerns that the community has, which could be responded to at a future meeting, will also be identified.

Speakers will be Lea Hitchen, Portsmouth town planner; Mike Jarbeau, Narragansett baykeeper, Save The Bay; Emma Rodvien, coordinator of the R.I. Energy Facility Siting Board; and Jeff Willis, executive director, R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council.

The Town of Portsmouth, R.I. Saltwater Anglers Association, R.I. Sea Grant, URI Coastal Resources Center, and URI Graduate School of Oceanography are sponsoring the event.
