The Barrington High School boys cross country team powered to one its strongest finishes ever at the Woods Trail Run at Thetford Academy in Vermont on Saturday.
The race features more than 1,000 competitors from nearly three dozen schools across the region.
Barrington High School boasted three runners among the top-10 finishers overall. Colby Napolitano sprinted to a fourth-place finish with a time of 16:45.1. Ryan Hurlock finished sixth with a time of 16:48.9. And Brooks Mello was ninth, finishing with a time of 16:52.9.
Calvin Mentzer finished 33rd overall with a time of 18:01.6. Jack Williamson and Finn Evans finished in 37th and 38th, respectively. Williamson clocked a time of 18:09.3 and Evans had a 18:10.1. Brady Martin finished in 44th place overall with a time of 18:23.8 and Patrick Coen was 51st with a time of 18:33.1.
Other Barrington runners to finish in the top-100 were Noah Chapman (79th), Ben Valdez (83rd), and Finn Sullivan (86th).
Division champs
After the strong showing at the Woods Trail Run in Vermont, Barrington returned home and defeated Portsmouth and Pawtucket in a dual meet on Monday. The Eagles finished the dual meet season undefeated and captured the division title. Barrington defeated Portsmouth and Pawtucket by the same score: 15-50.
Barrington runners dominated the dual meet, placing eight runners in the top-10 spots. Napolitano was first overall with a time of 17:46, followed by Mello in second, Austin McCarty in third, Martin in fourth, Mentzer in fifth, Williamson in sixth, and Evans in seventh.
