Barrington field hockey knocks off North Kingstown on senior day

The Barrington High School field hockey team celebrated its senior night with a 5-0 win over North Kingstown on Thursday, Oct. 3. 

Barrington acknowledged its seniors — Addyson Whittet, Ava Anderson, Emily Horn, Emma Mueller, Primrose Anderson, Rijaa Fatima and Roxana Mohammadi — with a tent reception after the victory. 

BHS captain Ava Anderson scored two goals and assisted on another, and captain Addyson Whittet had a goal and an assist. Primrose Anderson scored one goal and notched one assisted. Emma Mueller finished with a goal and Holly Moscrop tallied an assist. 

Barrington’s game against LaSalle, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, had to be rescheduled due to SATs. The game will be played on Oct. 19 at LaSalle at 12:30 p.m. 

Barrington’s next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 9 against East Greenwich. The game will be played at LaSalle at 7 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
