Bristol Police made three arrests and investigated multiple vandalism reports between July 15-21, 2024.

Bristol PD: Three arrests made, including for DUI and drag racing

Monday, July 15
Police looked for a vehicle at 10:35 a.m. that was reportedly headed east on Gooding Avenue after a passing motorist saw what appeared to be a domestic situation occurring inside. They didn’t locate the vehicle.

Police looked for a man reported as suspicious in the area of King Philip Avenue and Annawamscutt Drive at 11:04 p.m. He was apparently wearing a white hat, white shorts, and holding a flashlight while walking in the area. Police checked the area but he appeared to have moved on.

Tuesday, July 16
Dawn M. Pemental, 57, of 7 Wheeler Rd., Bristol, was arrested on Narrows Road at 3:10 p.m. following a motor vehicle accident. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense. She was arraigned at Newport Hospital and later released.

Fraud was reported on High Street at 3:00 p.m.

Police received a report from State Street that the caller’s boyfriend had struck a four-year-old and “took off with a child that does not belong to him.”

Wednesday, July 17
David A. Pacheco, 32, of 48 Charles St., Apt. #1, Bristol, was arrested on Charles Street after allegedly getting into an altercation with his sister. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, second offense, and disorderly conduct, first offense), and resisting arrest. He was arraigned and later transported to the ACI.

A resident reported at 10:06 a.m. that their car had been damaged previously by a pothole on Tupelo Street.

Police received a report of a cat bite that occurred on Valley Drive on July 1.

Police received a complaint from Citizens Bank on Hope Street at 12:35 p.m. regarding an “irate” customer.

Vandalism was reported on Hope Street at 4:06 p.m.

Thursday, July 18
DEM and Bristol DOT were notified of a deceased deer in the road near Metacom and Griswold Avenues at 5:25 a.m.

A broken window to the Walley School on High Street was reported at 10:01 a.m.

The animal control officer responded to Guiteras School at 12:25 p.m. for the report of a domestic goose on the loose.

Friday, July 19
Police received a report from the Blithewold Carriage House on Ferry Road at 12:39 p.m. regarding a man with a holstered gun who wouldn’t produce identification.

Vandalism was reported at Rogers Free Library at 3:47 p.m.

Dalton A. Gouveia, 30, of 170 Chestnut St., Rehoboth, Mass., was arrested on Metacom Avenue at 4:00 p.m. for an active warrant. The charges included street racing (first offense), reckless driving and other offenses against public safety (first offense), driving so as to endanger, resulting in personal injury, and disorderly conduct.

Saturday, July 20
Fraud was reported on Clipper Way at 9:32 a.m.

Police responded to the Bristol Music Academy on High Street at 8:22 p.m. for the report of an intoxicated man sitting on the stone wall. They helped him get in touch with his girlfriend, who walked him home for the evening.

Police advised loud parties on State Street at 9:07 0.m. and Echo Farm Drive at 9:18 p.m.

Sunday, July 21
Police looked for a man on the bike path after being alerted by Warren PD that he was yelling at people.

A truck on Union Street reportedly had its rear window smashed at 3:33 p.m.
