The Westport soccer team shutout Holbrook 3-0 on Tuesday after crushing previously undefeated Atlantis Charter School 6-0 on Saturday. The Wildcats improved their undefeated season record to 6-0 and have outscored their opponents 29-2 during the stretch. Striker Hunter Brodeur scored a pair of goals in each game and has been leading the attack for Westport. The senior netted five goals in an 8-0 shelling of Bishop Connolly during a home game on Teusday, Sept. 20.
Midfielder Ben Boudria tallied goals against Holbrook and Atlantis Charter. Midfielders Ben Novo, Antonio Dutra Africano and Will Quinlan each scored against Atlantis Charter.
Westport has been playing stellar defense in front of sophomore goalkeeper Noah Amaral who made six saves against Holbrook for his fifth shutout of the season. The defensive back four, Marcos Dutra Africano, Ryan Borges, Nick DosVais, and Zachary Lopes have made a strong effort to limit opponents quality scoring opportunities. The Wildcats, currently 2-0 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference, are set to play two league games in a row. The first at rival West Bridgewater on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and then home on Friday against Avon at 3:30 p.m.
