It's Fall Visitors Weekend at West Place

Posted

West Place Animal Sanctuary is hosting a Fall Visitors Weekend and inviting visitors to be among the first to meet Clover the emu and a trio of dwarf goats rescued in August. Plus, catch up with all of your favorite animals who continue to thrive in the peace and tranquility of West Place. This is the perfect opportunity to gather friends, family, and fellow animal lovers for an unforgettable experience at Rhode Island’s oldest and largest farm animal sanctuary.

Interactive and educational tours leave every half-hour and will last approximately 75 minutes. Get up close and personal with cows, alpacas, horses, donkeys, pigs, ducks, chickens and many more.

Adult tickets are $26 when purchased online ($28 at the gate), and kids 12 and younger always receive a discounted ticket price of $15. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes or boots, and prepare to discover (or re-discover) one of the gems of Rhode Island.

All donations benefit the farm animals and wildlife at West Place Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2007.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
