Seafood Festival at India Point this weekend

The Rhode Island Seafood Festival sets up at India Point Park in Providence this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7 and 8. The festival is an annual event which began in 2011 that brings together the best local purveyors of seafood and other fine fare, as well as beer, wine and spirits, from Ocean State producers.

It takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Your ticket covers admission into India Point Park for one or both days of the festival, depending on the ticket type you purchased. The ticket price includes a full day of live music from local bands, as well as access to all the restaurant and art vendors. Food and drink are not included in the ticket price.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
