To the editor:

Happy 250 Bristol! We hope you've enjoyed all the events that the Bristol 250 Committee has put together for our community.
We join our colleagues in thanking the Fourth of July Committee for all their hard work this year and our community for supporting us throughout this exciting journey. But we wanted to call attention to four individuals in particular who worked incredibly hard behind the scenes.

Bill Leary, our committee's stalwart secretary, took to his responsibilities like a duck to water. He has kept us on task throughout these many months with cheeky and irreverent humor. Christine Hughes was tireless as our treasurer, keeping us in line and making sure we didn't overspend — which believe us, we really tried to do! Sarah Griffin, our Vice Chair, magically conjured resources out of thin air, including a parade float. She and Christine (along with our steadfast carpenter Dan Karten) dreamed big and put an amazing float right at the top of the parade. And while we're talking about the float, we couldn't have done it without the guys from Reliable Pest, Bristol Marine, and Safeway Auto--thank you!

But the unsung hero of the group is our Chair Alayne White, who put in soooo many hours to this cause. Time and time again, she rallied us together, kept us moving forward, and worked hard to get us whatever resources we need. And, she did all this with a smile on her face and with the deepest love for our community in our heart. Alayne, we are so grateful to you for everything you do for Bristol!

Let's do it again in 250 years!
