To the editor:
In the aftermath of racist and extremist displays in Warren and other communities this past spring, a Sunday Peace Vigil was created. Since May 2nd a small group has gathered on the first Sunday of each month, from noon to 12:30 p.m. on the Town Common between Church and State streets.
Our meetings have been unstructured, open to everyone with no pressure to attend, and with no agenda other than creating a space for all to listen and to be heard and to begin to create a community of healing and respect, supporting each other in our growth as peacemakers.
In September we agreed to continue our monthly vigil. We will consider whether and how we might continue though the winter. We welcome new and returning participants.
