Barrington moves its holiday celebration indoors

Posted

Wind and rain could not scare away the holiday spirit, as Barrington residents turned out for the annual tree lighting event on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Town officials moved many of the activities indoors because of the inclement weather — inside the Peck Center building there was cookie decorating, chorus performances, and a visit from Santa.

And when the rain finally stopped, right around 5 p.m., a hearty group of people headed outside for the actual tree-lighting. Students from the high school marked the tree-lighting with some holiday classics, including “Jingle Bells.”
