Westport police arrest two on warrants

Monday, July 15

A caller from Route 88 filed an animal complaint just after 10 a.m.

A resident reported wires down on George Street just after 11 a.m.

A Jordans Way resident complained of identity fraud just after 4 p.m.

Officers pulled over eight vehicles and issued six citations over the course of the day. In addition, a parking enforcement cited a car on Beach Avenue at 6:08 p.m.

Tuesday, July 16

Callers reported suspicious vehicles at 8:33 a.m. (State Road) and 8:58 a.m. (Hix Bridge Road).

A 911 caller reported a driving infraction on Horseneck Road at 11:17 a.m.

A 911 caller lodged animal complaints from State Road at noon.

Police served a restraining order on Old County Road just before 2 p.m.

A Drift Road resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 3:54 p.m.

Police were asked to keep the peace on Hix Bridge Road at 4:36 p.m.

Police pulled over 17 vehicles and issued 15 citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, July 17

A Main Road resident filed animal complaints at 11:05 a.m.; similar calls came in from Narrow Avenue about an hour later, from Gabriella Drive at 3:50 p.m., and from River Road at 6:01 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a structure fire on American Legion Highway was transferred to the fire department at 11:20 a.m.

Police received a 2:50 p.m. radio alert of a disturbance at Horseneck Beach, and noted that peace had been restored.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Route 88 at 3 p.m.

Police were asked to keep the peace on Adamsville Road just after 4:30 p.m.

A caller reported the violation of a restraining order just after 7 p.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a warrant on Gifford Road at 9:37 p.m.

Police pulled over 15 vehicles and issued 13 citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, July 18

Police investigated a caller’s report of a suspicious car on Old Bedford Road at 5:16 a.m.

Stephanie Oliveira, 42, of 330 Sodom Road, was arrested on a warrant after police were called to Sodom for a medical emergency at 10:14 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Main Road at 11:54 a.m., and from Beeden Place at 7:06 p.m.

A caller from Mt. Pleasant Street reported harassment at 3:45 p.m.

Police investigated a report of suspicious activity called in from River Road at 11:37 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles and issued three citations over the course of the day.

Friday, July 19

A 911 caller from Division Street lodged animal complaints at 8:54 a.m.

A Drift Road caller asked police to keep the peace at 1:14 a.m.

Two noise complaints came in from Main Road, at 9:24 p.m. and 10:26 p.m.

Police pulled over 19 vehicles and issued 11 citations over the course of the day.

Saturday, July 20

Road hazards were called in from Highland Avenue at 9:40 a.m. and Main Road nine minutes later.

A caller from Christopher Circle reported a civil dispute at 10:39 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on Summer Avenue at 5:12 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles, and issued two citations, over the course of the day.

Sunday, July 21

A 911 caller’s animal complaint, called in at 8:57 a.m. at the intersection of State Road and American Legion Highway, proved unfounded.

A caller from Robert Street reported trespassing at 11:33 a.m.

Jacques Haston, 38, of 109 Briggs Road, was arrested on a warrant at Briggs and Gifford roads at 1:19 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a road rage incident at Old County Road and Route 88 at 7:40 p.m. A similar call came in from State Road seven minutes later.

Police were informed of a repossession on Sanford Road at 9:46 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle and issued one citation over the course of the day.
