Westport police: Man faces weapons, OUI charges

Monday, June 17

A Division Road caller reported the theft of a license plate at 8:24 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from American Legion Highway at 9:14 a.m., and from Drift Road at 7:15 p.m.

Danny Ferreira, 39, of 529 President Ave., Fall River, was arrested on a warrant following a car stop on Route 88 at 10:01 a.m.

A 911 caller from Summer Avenue reported a neighbor dispute at 11:13 a.m.

A Main Road resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 11:40 a.m.

A caller from Hix Bridge Road called regarding a liquor law violation at 4:07 p.m.

A caller from Bill Street alerted police to potential suspicious activity at 9:03 p.m., but police deemed the call unfounded.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Tuesday, June 18

Animal complaints came in from Division Road at 8:09 a.m., and from Cherry and Webb Lane at 5:10 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Hix Bridge Road at 7 p.m.

Police pulled over 14 cars and issued six citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, June 19

Animal complaints came in from Drift Road at 6:47 a.m.

A North Carolina man was pulled over at approximately 2 p.m.  Police filed numerous charges.

A caller from Highland Avenue complained of a disturbance at 8:35 p.m.

Police pulled over 19 vehicles and issued 16 citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, June 20

Police were alerted to a vehicle repossession on Main Road at 1:49 a.m.

Police served restraining orders to a Brookwood Drive resident at 3 p.m., and to a Drift Road resident at 6:37 p.m.

A caller from Old County Road reported a disturbance at 11:50 p.m.

Police pulled over 16 vehicles and issued 12 citations over the course of the day.

Friday, June 21

Police assisted after a caller at Route 88 and Hix Bridge Road reported a suspicious person at 8:04 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from American Legion Highway at 10:25 a.m., and from Drift Road at 1:06 p.m.

A Devol Avenue resident complained of identity fraud at 2:42 p.m.

A 911 caller reported suspicious activity on William Street at 5:39 p.m.

A larceny, forgery or fraud complaint was filed by an Old Bedford Road resident at 6:26 p.m.

Police pulled over 14 vehicles and issued one citation over the course of the day.

Saturday, June 22

Animal complaints came in from River Road at 9:03 a.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Sunday, June 23

Callers reported suspicious people on Route 195 (10:27 a.m.) and Davis Road (11:03 a.m.).

Animal complaints came in from Main Road at 12:35 p.m., and from Route 88 at 5:07 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious auto on Hix Bridge Road at 2:09 p.m.; a similar call came in from Sylvana Street at 6:03 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued three citations over the course of the day.
