Harvest Festival at the vineyard this weekend

Sakonnet Vineyard will host its second annual Harvest Festival this weekend.

The two-day event includes family-friendly activities, with live music, wine tastings, food, vineyard tours, and kid-friendly seasonal outdoor activities, including games, face painting, pumpkin painting, balloon animals, and more. Juicy Market PVD will be onsite both days with a curated market featuring locally-made goods and artisan vendors.

WHAT: Harvest Festival

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3 and 4; 12-5 p.m.

WHERE: Sakonnet Vineyard, 162 W. Main Road, Little Compton

COST: Free and open to the public

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
