A freshman at Barrington High School nearly brought home the all-around title at the Rhode Island State Gymnastics meet on Saturday.

Shaye Robinson recorded the top score on beam and finished with an all-around mark of 36.075, trailing only LaSalle's Alexis Beaumier's 36.925. 

In addition to her 9.45 on beam, Shaye scored an 8.975 on vault, an 8.9 on bars, and an 8.75 on floor. She has qualified to compete at the New Englands in vault, bars, beam and floor.

Jessica Liang, a junior at Barrington High School, also competed in the all-around at the state meet. Jessica finished in the top 30 — she scored an 8.6 on vault, a 7.95 on bars, an 8.4 on beam, and an 8.1 on floor, for an all-around score of 33.05.

Ally Jamieson, a freshman for the Eagles, competed on floor exercises at the state meet, scoring a 7.75. 

Barrington High School senior Alaina Ford scored a 7.55 on bars, while Callie Frazier, a sophomore, had an 8.4 on vault. Barrington freshmen Lily DaPonte and Hailey Searles also competed at states — Lily scored an 8.45 on vault and an 8.25 on beam, while Hailey scored an 8.2 vault.

Barrington did not score in the team competition at states, which was won by LaSalle.
