A 27-year-old Barrington man suffered injuries when the electric scooter he was riding collided with a vehicle turning onto County Road from New Meadow Road last Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26.

Police said the accident occurred at about 3:20 p.m.

According to the accident report, the man was riding his scooter through the intersection of County and New Meadow when there was a collision with a vehicle turning from New Meadow Road onto County.

As police officers arrived at the scene they noticed the man laying on his back partially in the roadway. Police said the man appeared to be in pain — he said his left leg may have been dislocated during the accident. Police said the man was wearing a helmet.

The scooter was damaged and police later found paint from the scooter and scratches on the front bumper of the vehicle and the side of the front bumper.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old Bristol woman, said the scooter struck her vehicle. Police did not issues summonses to anyone involved in the accident.

EMTs transported the Barrington man to a hospital.

The accident backed up traffic along Route 114 for more than an hour on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26. In Barrington, the southbound traffic on Route 114 was backed up onto the Wampanoag Trail, north of the intersection with Federal Road.
