BHS Homecoming: Blue and gold, and plenty of pink

Zoe Hatjopoulos and Miles Dolan named 2026 Golden Eagles

Barrington High School’s colors may be blue and gold, but the annual homecoming was a sea of pink on Friday night, Oct. 23.

The event — the BHS football game, the halftime parade, and the crowning of this year’s Golden Eagles — featured a “pink-out” theme, and students embraced it. They wore pink hats, pink shirts, pink onesies (yes, onesies), as well as pink cowboy hats, scarves, and matching pink wigs.

With the football team leading 10-0 at halftime, the homecoming festivities kicked into high gear. A convoy of decorated golf carts streamed past the bleachers at Victory Field — students rocketed handfuls of miniature Hershey bars, tiny bags of Sour Patch Kids, and Kit Kats into the mass of classmates.

A few minutes later, the homecoming court was announced two-by-two. The student pairs walked, skipped, and even piggy-backed to the center of the high school track. Different songs filled the air for each pairing:

• Zoe Hatjopoulos and Miles Dolan (Forever)

• Maddie Kiely and Peyton Hillier (Bring Them Out)

• Claire Collins and Maggie Ornstedt (Upside Down)

• Noor Mabrouk and Colin Appleyard (Heads Will Roll)

• Reese Graveline and Soren Hoffmann (Homecoming)

• Shelby Gasbarro and Xavier Barako (Industry Baby)

And then there was the announcement of this year’s Golden Eagles: Zoe Hatjopoulos and Miles Dolan.
