Bristol PD: Multiple people arrested on active warrants

Monday, Aug. 5
Zion J. Mullings, 24, of 17 Reservoir Ave., Apt. #3, Bristol, was arrested at 12:31 p.m. on Constitution Street following a short foot pursuit. He had an active warrant, and was charged with obtaining money by false pretenses or impersonation of less than $1,500, and larceny. He was transported to 2nd District Court.

Police looked for a recklessly driven scooter on Asylum Road at 4:32 p.m. but didn’t find the operator.

Vandalism was reported at the Town Beach at 7:23 p.m.

Police received a report that there were people throwing fireworks out of the windows of a car traveling near Metacom Avenue and Narrows Road at 11:32 p.m. The occupants of the car were dispersed from the scene and parents were notified.

Tuesday, Aug. 6
Jason J. Sousa, Jr., 28, of 331 Metacom Ave., Apt. #1, Warren, was arrested on Metacom Avenue at 9:35 a.m. with an active warrant. He was charged with reckless driving and other offenses against public safety (first offense), street racing (first offense), and disorderly conduct. He was transported to 2nd District Court.

Police responded to Viking Drive to follow up on the report of a dog bite from July 29.

Police made contact with the tenants of a residence on Prospect Street at 7:16 p.m. after receiving a complaint that a dumpster was overflowing with trash so much so that it was spilling onto the sidewalk. They indicated they would notify the landlord.

Wednesday, Aug. 7
Police spoke to the operator of a vehicle at 6:33 p.m. at the Town Beach after receiving a report it had been operating at a high rate of speed in the area.

Police received a report that there was a man walking around “making parents uncomfortable” on the Town Common. They learned he was looking for his teenage son, and helped him locate the juvenile.

Police asked a Division Street resident to turn down music playing on a porch at 10:06 p.m. following a noise complaint.

Thursday, Aug. 8
Police responded to Wood Street at 11:05 a.m. following a complaint that a significant other had locked their spouse out of the house by changing the locks.

Fraud was reported on Seal Island Road, involving a scam at 11:27 a.m.
Animal control attempted to capture a squirrel that was reportedly injured on Echo Farm Drive at 12:28 p.m. but the animal eluded their attempts to capture it.

A rescue was requested at St. Elizabeth’s Church on Wood Street at 1:23 p.m. following a report that a man was sleeping on the steps of the church. The report indicated the man was intoxicated.

A faulty fireplace valve caused a gas leak and emergency response on Wood Street at 8:55 p.m. The valve was secured.

Friday, Aug. 9
Jacob R. Mazza, 24, of 10 Gladding St., Bristol, was arrested at 10:20 a.m. on a warrant on Metacom Avenue. He was charged with street racing (first offense), reckless driving and other offenses against public safety (first offense), and disorderly conduct.

Stephanie Marie Scuilla, 35, of 21 Goulart Ave., Bristol, was arrested at CVS Pharmacy on Metacom Avenue at 11:03 a.m. She was charged with an active Superior Court Bench Warrant.

Police responded to Sherman Avenue at 12:11 p.m. for a report of juveniles riding golf carts. Nothing was found at the scene.

Police were told a large group of people were running and yelling in the driveway near a dumpster outside a business on State Street at 10:56 p.m. Police found no one at the scene.

Police received a report from the Portside Tavern on Thames Street that a man had thrown a glass at a group of people dining at 11:37 p.m. Warren police were notified in case the suspect was waiting outside one of the peoples’ homes.

Saturday, Aug. 10
Trespassing at the Portside Tavern was reported at 12:31 a.m.

Harrison S. Cooley, 19, of 48 Anoka Ave., Barrington, was arrested on State Street at the Nest Bar and Grill at 1:17 a.m. following a report of disorderly conduct and after reportedly taking off on foot. He was charged with one count of disorderly conduct and was released after being booked.

A construction crew was advised of the noise ordinance following a noise complaint on Hope Street at 7:55 a.m.

Kenneth A. Novo, 54, of 145 Mouse Mill Rd., Westport, Mass., was arrested at the Portside Tavern at 8:25 a.m. with an active warrant. He was charged with one count of domestic violence (disorderly conduct), first offense.

Police received a report from Coggeshall Farm at 12:12 p.m. that a suspicious man wearing an American flag baseball hat and carrying a briefcase had approached a staff member asking random questions. He was gone when they arrived.

A State Street resident reported at 10:01 p.m. that a “man with a bloody face” was trying to get into their apartment. The person wasn’t there when police arrived.

Sunday, Aug. 11
Police removed two unwanted people from Thames Waterside Bar & Grill on Thames Street at 12:29 a.m.

Police received a complaint about someone holding a campaign sign at the Town Beach at 9:59 a.m. The sign was removed without necessary enforcement action.

Police received what they reported as a possible “swatting” call on Buttonwood Street at 3:38 p.m. involving a fake fire call.

Police issued a warning to a vehicle traveling with people on the roof of a vehicle at 6:20 p.m. near Bay View Avenue and Bay Street.

Monday, Aug. 12
Police transported a man walking over the Mt. Hope Bridge at 2:56 a.m. back to the Portsmouth side of the bridge.
