Bristol Police: Arrests for domestic violence, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident

Monday, Sept. 28

At 2:31 p.m. a caller from Bristol Auto Body Works on Gooding Ave. reported the larceny of vehicle inspection stickers.

Tuesday, Sept. 29

At 3:40 a.m. police were called to do a welfare check on a male party who was sitting on the speaker of the drive-through at of the Dunkin’ Donuts at 381 Metacom Avenue.

At 1:49 p.m. Kaylee A. Furtado, 28, of 33 Fales Rd. was charged with DUI of liquor, BAC unknown, first offense.

Wednesday, Sept 30

At 4:08 p.m. Cesar A. Smith, 37, of 4 Burke Rd. was charged with failing to stop for an accident that resulted in damage.

At 11:33 p.m. two calls came in, one from a female stating that a male party was harassing her, and another from a male party saying a familiar female had showed up harassing him and would not leave. Police responded to the First Congregational Church at 301 High Street and dispersed both parties from the area.

Thursday, Oct. 1

At 1:24 p.m. Helen Dias, 45, of 5 Tower St. apt 1 was charged with domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and vandalism.

At 4:37 p.m. a Griswold Avenue caller complained that someone was dumpster-diving on their property.

Saturday, Oct. 3

At 11:37 p.m. a State Street caller reported a large group of kids walking in the area, but the responding officer left and took no action as they were making no noise and not doing anything wrong.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
