Christmas cookies galore on Saturday

There are two Cookie Walks (one in Bristol and one in Warren) on Saturday. Stroll tables filled with homemade and hand-decorated holiday-themed cookies of every shape and size. Collect as many as you want and pay by the pound.

WHAT: Cookie Walks

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 17

WHERE: The Baptist Church in Warren’s 16th annual Cookie Walk is from 9 a.m. until the cookies are gone at the church at 407 Main St.

WHERE: The First Congregational Church in Bristol will host its 31st annual Christmas Cookie Walk from 10 a.m. to noon at the church at 300 High St., Bristol. Buy by the pound or enjoy coffee, tea, hot mulled cider or hot chocolate with two cookies for $2 and then browse a mini-bazaar.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
