LC Republicans' open candidate forum is Monday

The Little Compton Republican Town Committee' will host a candidates' forum for candidates seeking seats on the town council and school committee this coming Monday, Oct. 7, at the Little Compton Community Center on the Commons. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the forum will begin at 7:15.

Gene Valicenti, a co-anchor of a local news channel as well as a morning talk show host, will be the moderator. In addition to receiving many awards, Gene has moderated many political debates.

All candidates are welcome. Light refreshments will be available. For information on the forum, contact lcrigop.org or call 401-592-4720.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
