Let’s install speed cameras around the schools to keep children safe. And back it up by building a playground 10 yards from the busy road. And build it so it looks like a prison yard. I'm waiting for the guard towers to be built.
No one speeds any more any way, not with all the bikes and e-scooters darting in and out of traffic. Let's pass an ordinance 'no e-scooters on sidewalks'...then watch all the e-scooters on the sidewalk.
Remember when Razor Scooters were all the rage? Biking against traffic on a sidewalk is one of the leading causes of car-bike collisions and is highly dangerous...at least the unbuckled bicycle helmet will keep them safe. Intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Walnut Road, my money is on that being the site of first e-scooter fatality.
Sidewalk, kids e-scootering to school 20 MPH on such sidewalk, hedges blocking views, car meets e-scooter, car wins.
Want to raise money? Can the speed cameras...fine the kids for e-scootering on the sidewalk? Better yet, impound the e-scooters of the violators, or at least the parents.
When did the Child Rearing Manual change to 'call the police if your kid acts up'?
“Class 1 e-bikes Only” signs on the bike path aren't being read...maybe they should be in braille.
Seems to be pedestrians and e-scooters are turning into Sharks vs Jets...'da-da-da-daah'.
I'm not in favor of speed cameras.
