Mt. Hope High School girls' soccer standout Sara Nencka certainly rose to the occasion during the final regular season home match of her and fellow senior mates' careers, scoring all three tallies in the Huskies' 3-0 shutout of visiting Prout Thursday night, Oct. 22, at Roger Williams University.

Nencka accrued her hat-trick, scoring a pair of goals in the first half then added another in the final 40 minutes. Classmate Emma Goglia assisted on two of the tallies while sophomore Olivia Overy had the other helper. Keeper Moira Ware needed to make four saves to earn the shutout.

The evening was extra special for Nencka, who was recognized for being the last MHHS girls' soccer player to reach the career 100-point milestone. She achieved the feat her one-goal, two-assist effort in the Huskies' 4-2 win over Moses Brown on October 13. Her three goals against the Crusaders upped her points total to 106.

Mt. Hope finished its 2026 regular season with a 6-6-5 overall record and sixth in the Division I power rankings, earning the accompanying sixth seed in the upcoming state championship playoffs. MHHS hosts a preliminary round tournament game Monday night, Oct. 26, at RWU against 11th-seeded Moses Brown (6-9-1). Kickoff is 7:30.

The Huskies and the Quakers met just once during the regular season, the aforementioned 4-2 Mt. Hope victory. Besides Nencka, Kendra Ascoli, Macy Brodd and Alaina Enes scored the goals. Catherine Frawley, in the stead of then-injured Ware, made two saves while playing net.

The winner advances to the quarterfinals later next week against third-seeded Lincoln (11-2-3). The host Huskies fell to the Lions, 4-2, back on September 15 in the lone meeting between the sides this fall.
