A Barrington resident called police on Wednesday, July 27 at about 11:45 a.m. to report a stolen vehicle.
The resident told police her ex-boyfriend took her rental car without permission and was not responding to calls or texts.
Police issued a notice to law enforcement agencies across the region to be on the lookout for the 2021 Nissan Versa. Barrington Police learned later that the vehicle had been found abandoned on Route 93 in Braintree, Mass., and that the occupants of the vehicle had run from police.
Officials said the vehicle had extensive damage. Barrington Police are still investigating, and Mass State Police and Braintree Police are also involved.
