Someone called Barrington Police on Saturday, July 9 to report teenagers drinking alcohol at the town beach at about 6 p.m.
Police responded and located a group of about a dozen teens. Police also spotted some alcohol bottles and cans partially hidden under a blanket.
Police then charged a 17-year-old girl from North Carolina and a 16-year-old girl from Massachusetts with possession of a beverage by an underage person-first offense.
Police said none of the teenagers was from Barrington; officials said all the of the teens were enrolled at a summer camp at Brown University.
Police contacted an official at Brown University who then sent three RAs (resident assistants) to the beach to take custody of the teenagers. Police seized the alcohol, which included beer, seltzers, bottles of hard alcohol, and nips.
