PORTSMOUTH — The annual Portsmouth High School Homecoming Parade resembled a sea of red, white, and blue as it proceeded down East Main Road and Turnpike Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Charlie Cord and Brynn Santucci were named this year’s Homecoming king and queen. The other members of the court who also rode in convertibles were Robert Mairs, Rowan Snyder, Allie Kaull, Oliver Jelley, Corbin Hayes, Dillon Fesmire, and Margaux Boneu.

This year’s parade marshal was PHS Administrative Assistant Pat Wentzel. The parade also featured the PHS Marching Band, cheerleaders and color guard, along with local officials, class officers, and floats ridden by members of each class: the “Famous Freshmen,” “Sea Faring Sophomores,” “Jackpot Juniors,” and “Super Mario Seniors.”

After the parade turned down Turnpike Avenue and ended at PHS, the Patriots’ varsity football team defeated West Warwick, 30-22. The marching band performed at halftime, during which the Homecoming court was introduced to the crowd.
