Six individuals aged 18-20 were issued District Court summonses following an identification check initiated by the Bristol Police Department at the Common Pub & Grille on Wood Street at 10:05 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Per Captain Steven St. Pierre, “Patrol observed several patrons of the Common Pub who appeared to be under the age of 21 entering and exiting the establishment and conducted proactive checks of the establishment that resulted in the summons. It is common patrol practice to randomly check establishments in town for compliance, with particular attention to the start of the school year each year.”

The six individuals included an 18-year-old from Connecticut, a 19-year-old from Connecticut, a 20-year-old from New Jersey, and three 19-year-olds from Massachusetts. They were each charged with one count of unlawful drinking and misrepresentation by an underaged person (each were first offenses).

“The misrepresentation charges identify that they provided fake IDs that were not captured by the bouncer working the door,” St. Pierre said, adding that none of the individuals were brought into custody as a result.
