Monday, Aug. 26
Police looked into a “buzzing” noise in the area of Dyer Street at 9:38 a.m. that a caller said had been going on since around 2:00 a.m., but an officer couldn’t identify the source.

Someone reported that their vehicle had gone missing from a parking lot across from their home on Asselin Street at 10:46 a.m., and wanted to report it stolen.

A multi-car accident was reported on Metacom Avenue at 4:51 p.m. At least one person was transported to the hospital as a result.

A tree struck by lightning on Brownell Street caused concern for a neighbor at 6:51 p.m., who wondered if the damaged tree would be a hazard. The property owner was contacted and agreed to resolve the matter when they returned on Friday.

The buzzing noise on Dyer Street once again prompted a call at 8:32 p.m., but once again no obvious source was located.

Tuesday, Aug. 27
Police responded to Third Street at 3:15 p.m. following a report that a sibling through something at their other sibling’s head. One person was eventually dispersed from the area.

An anonymous caller reported that there were people with a fire pit “lit in the bed of a truck” on Child Street at 9:05 p.m. Police learned they were just using a small grill on the bed of the truck, and were doing so safely.

Wednesday, Aug. 28
Police responded to a noise complaint on Water Street at Blount’s at 5:56 a.m. but noise levels were found within legal limits.

Police responded to Bull Crossing at 12:23 p.m. for the report of a dog bite.
Police responded to Terrace Avenue at 4:49 p.m. requesting the dispersal of a spouse who allegedly threw items around the home.

A Frankin Street resident called to report falling victim to a Facebook scam at 4:54 p.m.

Police responded to Barker Avenue at 5:28 p.m. following an elderly patient reportedly trying to stab members of the staff with a fork. The patient was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

Police responded to Locust Terrace at 7:49 p.m. regarding someone walking up and down the street yelling. They learned it was over a dispute with an Amazon delivery driver, and all parties were dispersed.

Thursday, Aug. 29
Jeremy S. Bane, 41, of 28 Child St., Apt. #9, Warren, was arrested at 8:52 a.m. following an incident on Child Street. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). He was arraigned and transported to court later that morning.

Police served a no trespass order to a man at 9:13 a.m. who had been frequenting a business on Market Street and asking customers for money.

An injured baby raccoon was reported on Brown Street at 12:55 p.m. The animal control officer later made arrangements for it to be transported to a wildlife rehabilitation clinic.

Friday, Aug. 30
Police served a no trespass order to someone who had been frequenting the area outside of Thrive Behavioral Health on Railroad Avenue at 12:00 p.m.

Police spoke to juveniles on Main Street at 1:51 p.m. following a report that they were climbing on construction staging. They claimed they were just waiting for their hair appointments nearby.

A Kelly Street resident reported at 2:18 p.m. that they suspected there were homeless people living in the woods nearby, and that they might be going through their personal mail.

A police car struck a deer while on patrol near Schoolhouse Road and Kinnicutt Avenue at 4:48 p.m. No one was injured and there was no damage to the cruiser. The deer fled the area.

Saturday, Aug. 31
Police put a stop to industrial forklift operations on Water Street at 5:14 a.m., which is prior to when such noisy work is allowed to commence at 7:00 a.m.

As a result of a domestic incident on Arlington Avenue at 10:21 a.m. Georgia Allen, 25, of 78 Arlington Ave., Apt. #B, Warren, and Julia A. Allen, 47, of the same address, were both arrested. Georgia Allen was charged with one count of domestic violence (disorderly conduct, first offense), and Julia A. Allen was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses).

Mariano S. Lima, 58, was arrested at 8:44 p.m. on Main Street for a warrant out of Barrington. He was transported into the custody of Barrington PD at 9:28 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 1
Jonathan B. Osman, 33, of 78 Governor Bradford Dr., Barrington, was arrested on a warrant out of West Warwick at 7:38 p.m. He was transported to the custody of West Warwick PD at 10:13 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 2
Brendan M. Doyle, 38, of 37 Lillis Ave., Barrington, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop near Main and Beach Streets. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
