An off-duty Warren police officer has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after he was involved in a single car accident early on the morning of Sunday, June 13.
Police said Patrolman Adam Floor, 25, of 36 Varnum Ave. in Bristol, lost control of his GMC truck while driving on Metacom Avenue just after 2:45 a.m. The truck struck a utility pole and a home's porch before coming to a stop. Neither he nor anyone else was injured.
The Warren Building Inspector and a detective were dispatched to the scene, and Mr. Floor was read his rights at 3:29 a.m.
He was arraigned and released at 5:15 a.m. on personal recognizance, and is scheduled to be formally arraigned in Sixth Division District Court on Friday, June 18. Department spokesperson Lt. Christopher Perreault said Monday morning that Ptlm. Floor has been placed on administrative leave.
