They found a fork in the road, and returned it.
Westport police reported Thursday afternoon that the iconic fork at River and Old Harbor roads has been found, and returned to owners Mike and Kate Schmitt.
The fork was reported stolen earlier this week. Thieves made off with the whimsical utensil by separating it from its poured concrete base, and police on Tuesday asked for the public's help in locating it.
Westport police could not immediately be reached to provide details on what happened to the fork, where it was found or who, if anyone, might face charges.
