Portsmouth Police deal with domestic assault, DUIs

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:

Tuesday, May 14

Freddie Valentin DeJesus, 41, of 93 Mason Ave., was charged with domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery), first offense; and domestic disorderly conduct. Officers responded to his home at about 2:40 p.m. after getting a report of a verbal argument taking place. Officers later determined that DeJesus had grabbed and pushed a 19-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, police said.

Wednesday, May 15

Kyle E. Haskins, 35, of 308 Silver St., Hanover, Mass., was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, after officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Point Road at about 10:30 a.m. Haskins, who was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, was transported to Newport Hospital, police said.

Jocelyn Marie Medeiros, 37, of 55 Morgan St. 1, was charged with larceny of under $1,500. Medeiros turned herself in at the police station around 12:20 p.m. on an arrest warrant that had been issued by the Portsmouth Police Detective Division. The warrant followed an investigation that revealed she had stolen items from Neon Marketplace, according to police.

Katherine Elizabeth Graham, 60, of 215 Sea Meadow Drive, was charged with domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery), first offense. Officers arrested Graham at her home around 1:25 p.m. after an 18-year-old local man told police she had struck him with an object the previous evening, according to police. 

Friday, May 17

David Landry, 60, of 18 Rocky Ave., Tiverton, was charged with DUI, first offense, after he was pulled over on East Main Road for erratic driving at about 5:30 p.m., police said.

Saturday, May 18

Dorian Michael Lopez, 29, of 87 Beacon St., Middletown, was charged with DUI, first offense, shortly before 1 a.m. Officers found Lopez asleep behind the wheel of his running vehicle that was stopped in front of a gas pump at Mobil Xtra Mart, 1568 West Main Road, police said. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, according to police.

Brian Villa, 38, of 56 High St., Cumberland, was arrested on an affidavit warrant, for disorderly conduct, that had been issued by the North Smithfield Police Department. Villa was in a vehicle that was pulled over on East Main Road at Linden Lane around 7:45 a.m., police said. He was held at the police station and later transferred to the custody of the North Smithfield Police Department.

Sunday, May 19

Michaela Justine Stewart, 36, of 92 Madison Way, was charged with DUI, first offense, following a motor vehicle stop on Mill Lane at Maize Corn Road around 1:30 a.m. Stewart was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.
