Barrington volleyball team tops Coventry and Cumberland

The Barrington High School girls volleyball team improved to 7-5 after defeating Coventry and Cumberland this week. 

On Thursday, Oct. 8, the Eagles beat Cumberland 3-2. Barrington opened strong with a 25-8 win, then dropped the second set 22-25. The Eagles bounced back to win the third set, 25-22, but lost the fourth, 21-25, forcing a deciding fifth set. Barrington topped Cumberland, 15-10, and captured the win. 

Barrington High School junior Charlotte Farrell finished the five-set match with nine kills, three solo blocks, and three block assists, while Skyler Roloff also had nine kills, and finished with two aces and four digs. Riley Fogarty, one of the Eagles’ co-captains this season, tallied 11 kicks, 10 digs and had three service aces. 

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, Barrington powered past Coventry 3-0. The Eagles swept, 25-11, 25-20, 25-15. Heidi Muehlbauer played well for Barrington, finishing with 17 digs and six assists. Farrell had 12 kills, four aces and seven blocks. 

Barrington will play at East Greenwich on Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m., and at East Providence on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m.
