Bristol PD: Mostly noise complaints during quiet crime week

Monday, May 27
Police responded to Church Street at 7:22 a.m. for a report of property being damaged in a basement.

Police responded to Gloria Street for a report that workers had started on a construction project for a new home prior to the allowed time of 8:00 a.m. The report was from 7:52 a.m.

Tuesday, May 28
A caller reported at 12:42 a.m. that a vehicle was traveling in the opposite lane on the Mt. Hope Bridge headed into Bristol and had run multiple stop signs. Police reported it was a DoorDash driver and that they found no issues after speaking with them.

Police responded to Dawn Hill Road at 12:07 p.m. following up on the report of a threat occurring between a current and a former employee.

Police looked for a juvenile riding a motorized scooter on Everett Street at 4:27 p.m. but he had gone by the time they arrived.

Police received a report that a car was driving past a house on Hopeworth Avenue multiple times around 8:10 p.m. Police learned it was someone simply learning how to drive.

Wednesday, May 29
Police received a report that DPW workers were being noisy at 5:55 a.m. near Wood and Charles Streets. They were advised of the complaint.

Police looked into a noise coming from the east side of Mt. Hope High School at 11:31 a.m. Nothing of note was found.

DEM took someone into custody around 6:00 p.m. after a report was made that there was a vehicle on the bike path in Colt State Park.

Police responded to Seasons on Metacom Avenue at 8:42 p.m. for the report of a fight that had broken out.

A stolen package was reported on DeWolf Avenue.

Thursday, May 30
An injured squirrel was reported at 9:35 a.m. in the road on Michael Drive. The animal control officer was able to secure the animal.

Police responded to Metacom Avenue after receiving a report at 10:02 a.m. that a man was breaking items inside of a home.

A Wapping Drive resident reported at 2:08 p.m. that their security camera had been damaged.

Police responded to CVS on Metacom Avenue at 7:06 p.m. to assist with an upset customer.

Friday, May 31
Fraud was reported on DeWolf Avenue at 12:25 a.m.

A man riding an electric skateboard reported at 8:52 a.m. that a man in a blue Saab had tried to run him off the road. Police couldn’t locate the vehicle.

A deceased turkey was reported on Metacom Avenue at 9:11 a.m.

Police responded to Wendy Drive at 10:56 a.m. for the report of an intoxicated man who refused to leave a residence.

Police checked Franca Drive at 8:10 p.m. following a report of juveniles with fireworks. No youths were found.

Saturday, June 1
Police responded to Franklin Court Assisted Living at 8:55 a.m. for the report of their kitchen windows being damaged at some point over the previous evening.

Police dispersed a panhandler from the area of State and Hope Streets at 1:05 p.m.

Police instructed a Sweeney Lane resident to stop using construction equipment at 9:04 p.m. following a noise complaint.

Sunday, June 2
Police responded to Brookfarm Drive at 12:52 a.m. for a noise complaint and the report of people singing outside. Police learned it was a small gathering for a birthday party, and they were advised to quiet down.

A dog bite was reported on Metacom Avenue at 8:39 a.m.

Police checked into a possible squatter living in a vacant apartment on Murphy Avenue at 11:24 a.m.

Police responded to Oliver Street at 8:45 p.m. following the report of a black go-kart on the street. They didn’t find anything.
