Bristol PD: Warren resident arrested for street racing

Monday, July 29

Fraud was reported at the Century 21 realty on Hope Street at 9:49 a.m.

Damage to a lawn and mailbox from a delivery truck was reported on Platt Street at 11:08 a.m.

Police were called regarding a verbal disturbance occurring between a man and a woman near Fales and Crest Roads at 11:54 a.m.

Police received a report that two men took money from a Facebook Marketplace sale without providing the item described and then left in a vehicle on Metacom Avenue at 12:39 p.m.

Police were called to a business on Wood Street at 6:03 p.m. after someone complained about the foul smell emanating from trash in the back of a truck.

Tuesday, July 30

Police dispersed a vehicle from Colt State Park at 1:53 a.m.

Everett E. James, Jr., 23, of 126 Constitution St., Apt. #2, Bristol, was arrested on a warrant at 10:49 a.m. He was charged with one count of domestic violence (criminal violation of a no contact order, first offense). He was later transported to 2nd District Court.

Kevin Michael Ferreira, born 1972, of 14 Fernwood Rd., Bristol, was arrested on an affidavit warrant at 6:56 p.m.

Wednesday, July 31

A summons was issued for someone on Burton Street at 11:32 a.m. regarding a third offense of possessing unlicensed dogs.

Police went to Bristol Woods Drive at 11:49 a.m. to follow up on a report of a dog bite from the previous week.

A dog bite was reported on Greenway Drive at 12:22 p.m.

Fraud was reported on Wayland Road at 3:12 p.m.

Police initiated a search warrant on Wood Street at 4:59 p.m.

The Domino’s Pizza on Metacom Avenue reported multiple fraudulent orders being submitted online at 5:35 p.m.

Police restored the peace on Harrison Street at 6:42 p.m. following a fight.

Thursday, Aug. 1

Vandalism to a vehicle on Primrose Drive was reported at 3:10 a.m.

Police were called to the Bank of Newport on Gooding Avenue at 12:26 p.m. following a call for suspicious behavior. The log indicated a man was “counting down as if something is going to go off.” He was gone when police arrived.

Police asked a Primrose Drive resident to turn down their music after a noise complaint was logged at 6:55 p.m.

An incident of theft that had priorly occurred was reported on Constitution Street at 10:07 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 2

Police were called to the DeWolf Tavern on Thames Street at 12:46 a.m. following a report that there were people with flashlights on the roof and loud noises in the area. Police found nothing at the scene.

Marcus Goff, 26, of 60 Water St., Apt. #2, Warren, was arrested at Mt. Hope High School on Chestnut Street at 3:38 a.m. after receiving a report of a suspicious person at the track field. He was charged with street racing (first offense), reckless driving and other offenses against public safety (first offense), and disorderly conduct.

Authorities responded to Francis Street at 12:24 p.m. for the report of raccoons in a dumpster.

An Aaron Avenue resident reported receiving a fraudulent letter in the mail at 2:02 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 3

Police received a report from DeWolf Avenue at 4:22 p.m. that a fight had occurred and one involved may have displayed a firearm. No arrests were made, however.

Police spoke to homeowners on Hamlet Drive at 4:27 p.m. after they received a report of fireworks coming from the area.

Sunday, Aug. 4

Police dispersed people from the Colt State Park boat ramp at 1:53 a.m. following a report of suspicious activity.

Bristol fire marine rescue was initially called to assist with a person in the water wearing a life vest near Seal Island in Mt. Hope Bay at 10:29 a.m., but later were informed the subject was in Newport and were called off by the Coast Guard.

Monday, Aug. 5

A Reservoir Avenue resident called police at 3:44 a.m. concerned that someone was outside jiggling their doorknob. Police learned the noise was coming from a sump pump outside.
