Letter: Levesque’s letter about Driscoll was unfair

Posted

To the editor:

There is an aspect of Councilman (Charles) Levesque’s letter published in the June 27, 2024 issue of The Portsmouth Times (“Water board had roundabout plans all along”) that is worth a comment.

Councilman Levesque suggests that Mr. (Philip) Driscoll should have stated at the council meeting that people could visit the water authority office and view the plans. Had Mr. Driscoll done so, he would have been implying a lie in Mr. Rainer’s statement about public disclosure being forbidden by the DOT. I guess Mr. Levesque feels that hanging Mr. Rainer out to dry like that would have been OK, but that is not in the character of the Phil Driscoll that I know.
