Warren PD: Dog bites, a stolen car and four arrests

Monday, May 6
A dog bite that occurred in the past was reported on Seymour Street at 7:33 a.m.

A Child Street business called police to issue a no trespass order on a person at 2:52 p.m., but they had left the scene by the time they arrived.
A man reported to police at 4:36 p.m. that their dog had been bitten by another dog.

Tuesday, May 7
A caller told police at 8:13 a.m. that they had witnessed a man appear to approach a woman in the area of Water Street with what they thought to be a screwdriver in his hand. Police checked the area but saw nobody matching the description given.

A dog bite that occurred prior to the report was logged on Child Street at 12:19 p.m.

A caller on Beth Avenue reported at 2:56 p.m. that their email had been hacked and used to send a large invoice to a client of theirs.

A Cutler Street resident reported at 4:26 p.m. that they had recently been bitten by a dog. They were ultimately transported to the hospital according to the logs.

Stuart C. Tibbetts, 38, of 137 Arlington Ave., Warren, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. with an active Superior Court warrant. He was later transported to the ACI.

A dumpster fire was reported on Market Street at 7:40 p.m. Warren fire volunteers extinguished it without incident.

Wednesday, May 8
A Market Street resident reported hearing gunshots in the distance at 10:11 a.m. but no one could corroborate that report.

Police responded to Main Street at 12:17 p.m. after a caller reported the driver of a red BMW tried to run him off the road while driving on his motorbike. The police responded to them both arguing at the scene and both were dispersed from the area.

A caller reported at 8:23 p.m. that they had struck a swan with their vehicle.

Carol A. Ryan, 58, of 1942D Village Green S, Apt. #2, Riverside, was arrested following a wellbeing check on Railroad Avenue at 8:50 p.m. She had an active warrant from the 6th District Court. She was later transported to the ACI.

Thursday, May 9
A Federal Street resident reported at 6:59 a.m. that they had a rear window of a vehicle smashed.

Damage to a pump station on Main Street was reported at 10:45 a.m.

An Arlington Avenue resident reported at 2:11 p.m. that their Ring security camera had been damaged.

A caller reported at 7:36 p.m. that a large construction vehicle had struck the stop sign at Campbell and Water Streets and then turned left to go south on Main Street. Bristol PD was notified, and a message was left for DPW.

Friday, May 10
Antonio P. Vieira, 34, of 8 Rollingwood Ct., Warren, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Kinnicutt Avenue and Child Street at 1:40 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was arraigned and released later that morning.

A Market Street resident reported that their vehicle had been stolen at 7:06 a.m.

Police responded to Barrington during the incident on Friday morning involving a student bringing a knife to school, causing a lockdown.

A solicitor from Smart Green was dispersed from the Seymour Street area at 3:50 p.m. and advised on how to obtain a permit.

Saturday, May 11
Police received a report that a man appeared to be trying to remove his pants near Main and Seymour Streets at 1:01 p.m. Police didn’t find anyone in the area.

An accident involving a car and a motorcycle was reported on Metacom Avenue at 7:05 p.m. The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and alert and was transported to the hospital.

Sunday, May 12
Kathryn Martin, 32, of 7 Shockley Dr., Lakeville, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Child Street and Highview Avenue at 1:57 a.m. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test. She was arraigned and released later that morning.
